COA/COT/Ophthalmic Assistant – FULL-TIME

Hollingshead Eye Center is seeking a full-time ophthalmic assistant to join our busy office. Prefer COA or COT but will train the right person if previous experience in eye care field is determined sufficient. Two years of eye care experience required.

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Obtaining medical history and ocular history
  • Visual acuities
  • Tonometry
  • Knowledge of refraction (helpful)
  • Visual fields, Fundus Photos, OCT's
  • Scribe (will train the right individual)
  • Help manage patient flow

Physicians’ Scribe – FULL-TIME

Hollingshead Eye Center is seeking a full-time physicians’ scribe. Must be trained in medical documentation and terminology and have excellent, legible penmanship. Upper level typing/computer skills preferred.

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Documenting the physician dictated patient history, physical examination, family, social, and past medical history
  • Documenting procedures, exam results, and other impressions made by the supervising physician and any other information pertaining to the patient’s encounter in the eye care facility

ASC Surgery Scheduler – FULL-TIME

Hollingshead Eye Center is seeking a full-time ASC surgery scheduler. Must have good typing skills and communicate well with patients and staff. Surgery scheduling or other ambulatory surgery center experience is preferred but not required.

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Scheduling all procedures to be performed in facility
  • Following scheduling form to obtain all necessary patient demographic, health, and insurance information from physician’s office
  • Maintaining copy of medical staff member’s Delineation of Privileges to determine appropriateness of scheduled procedures; notifies Director if questions arise
  • Accurately preparing and distributing final preoperative and surgery schedule for timely distribution
  • Performing other miscellaneous office/clerical duties as needed, such as answering the phone
