Dr. Hollingshead is board certified in ophthalmology and was one of the first surgeons in Idaho to perform the revolutionary LASIK procedure. He has performed more than 9,000 LASIK procedures and continues to be one of the most experienced local providers of LASIK in southwest Idaho and eastern Oregon. Dr. Hollingshead is the only ophthalmologist in the Boise Metro area certified in both LASIK and cataract surgery by the American Board of Eye Surgery (ABES).
He received his Bachelor of Science degree (cum laude in biochemistry) from the California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo. He completed his Doctor of Medicine degree and residency at the University of California-Irvine College of Medicine. After further training in refractive surgery and advanced cataract techniques at The Eye Institute of Utah, he opened the Boise clinic and outpatient surgery center in 1994, bringing the finest and latest technological advances in eye care to the area.
Dr. Hollingshead lives his commitment to bringing the most advanced vision correction technology commercially available to the Boise community. He looks for solutions through extensive continuing medical education, both in the U.S. and abroad. Always an innovator, he was the only doctor in Idaho performing the now-common techniques of topical anesthesia, foldable implants, and no-stitch surgery for the removal of cataracts as early as 1994.

Hollingshead Eye Center proudly welcomes a new optometrist, Aaron Bronner, O.D.
Dr. Bronner completed his undergraduate work at the University of Idaho then graduated with honors from Pacific University’s College of Optometry. During a one-year residency in Ocular Disease and Surgical Co-management in Madison, Wisconsin, he studied directly under subspecialists in the fields of Cornea, Cataract/Refractive, Glaucoma, and Retina.
In addition to extensive clinical training, Dr. Bronner has published articles on retinal and corneal disease in optometric literature. In addition, he has been a key contributor to ongoing studies of new generation corneal topographers, the genetics of macular degeneration, and both full- and partial-thickness keratoplasty. Dr. Bronner has lectured at conferences to optometrists, optometry students and technicians.
In practicing optometry, Dr. Bronner combines outstanding skill in clinical management with caring interpersonal interaction and communication. These attributes make him a valuable addition to Hollingshead Eye Center’s staff, where he will carry on its tradition of treating each patient as a member of the family.
A native of Boise, Dr. Bronner will provide premier optometric care to the community that he considers home.
